Knowledge Isn't Power, The Right Knowledge is.

We’ve all been told that “knowledge is power.” It’s a phrase that echoes in classrooms, boardrooms, and pulpits.

But what if I told you that knowledge alone isn’t the key, it’s the right knowledge that unlocks true power?

“ Knowledge isn’t the key, the right knowledge is. The wrong knowledge will lock you in while convincing you you're free. That’s why experience, without truth, can become your worst teacher."

S. Olamilekan Isreal

Right knowledge unlocks potential

You see, not all knowledge is equal. Some information enlightens, while some misleads. Some builds your future, while others quietly sabotage it. What you know—or think you know—can either set you free or keep you locked in cycles of limitation.

Think about this: many of us were taught certain cultural ideas, religious beliefs, or personal principles that we’ve followed for years, only to realize later that they held us back more than they pushed us forward. That’s because knowing is not enough; having the right knowledge is everything.

Even experience, which people call "the best teacher," can become a poor guide if it’s built on the wrong foundation. If faulty ideas shape your experience, then what you learned might lead you further into confusion, not clarity. In fact, some of the worst decisions people make come from lessons learned in pain, but interpreted through a broken lens.

Right knowledge doesn’t just inform you—it transforms you. It reshapes how you see life, how you handle relationships, how you lead, and how you grow.

So, ask yourself today:

  • Am I growing from the right knowledge?

  • Are my beliefs built on truth or tradition?

  • Have I challenged what I’ve learned, or simply accepted it because it’s familiar?

Because in the end, the knowledge you carry will either unlock your potential, or keep the door of progress tightly shut.
